Library Cards
Library cards are free to Paw Paw residents and provide full access to all library services. To apply for a card or renew a card, you will need identification that confirms you live within the boundaries of the Paw Paw School District. Residents may apply for a card in-person at the circulation desk or online.
Patrons of Van Buren District Library, Lawton Public Library, Portage District Library, and Kalamazoo Public Library may apply for a reciprocal card.
Nonresidents who are not eligible for a reciprocal card may purchase a fee card for $50.
Patron who live in the Paw Paw School District are eligible to apply for a virtual card without coming into the library. A virtual card provides access to the library’s digital services only.

Checkouts
Books, CDs, audiobooks, magazines, kits and hotspots have a two-week checkout period. DVDs and games check out for one week.
Renewals
Most materials may be renewed a maximum of three times if not on reserve for another patron. Renew material by calling the library or by logging into your account online.
Returns
Returns are accepted at the circulation desk, and a drive-up book drop is open for returns 24/7. The Library does not charge overdue fines, but material kept 30 days beyond the due date will be charged the replacement cost and a $3 processing fee.
Reserves
Reserves can either be made online by logging into your account or with the help of a staff member at the circulation desk. We will call you when your item is ready and hold it for you for five days.
Requests
Patrons may suggest material for purchase by filling out a request form at the circulation desk. Library staff will consider all requests and honor all that conform to the library’s collection development policy.
Interlibrary Loan
Material not owned by the library can also be requested through MelCat, the statewide interlibrary loan system. Interlibrary loan service is only available to patrons who live in the Paw Paw School District. Reciprocal patrons must use their home library for this service. Place interlibrary loan requests at the circulation desk or directly on the mel.org website with your library card.
Beyond Books Collection
Beyond Books is a special collection of non-traditional items that are available for checkout. The collection includes hotspots, laptops, story time and phonics kits, games, and activity kits for adults.
